John  6:54 BIBLE READING: MARK 14:22-24 22 . And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. 23. And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them; and they all drank of it. 24. And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many. MESSAGE Jesus offered His body to His disciples and by extension to us His present-day apostles. An invitation to a Holy Communion Service is an invitation to come and partake in the life of the Life-Giver. The body of Jesus was broken for us and so, when we partake in the Lord’s Supper, we are eating Jesus’ body which is meat indeed (John 6:48-50). Whoever eats His body has eternal life. The significance of the Lord’s Supper resides in its valu...

THURSDAY, 24TH JUNE, 2021. THEME: MY PEACE I LEAVE WITH YOU. MEMORY VERSE: “ And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7) BIBLE READING: John 14:27 (KJV) 27. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.  MESSAGE: Nothing tangible can be achieved in a chaotic atmosphere, organisation, family or mind.  This is why peace is very important. There are factors that can guarantee peace in the life of an individual, particularly a child of God.  The first is genuine salvation. Sin brought about the troubles that man encountered right from the Garden of Eden. Proverbs 28:1 says: The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as lion. Thus, whoever desires peace must seek the Author of salvation, Jesus Christ.  We see this in our memory verse for today, as well ...

PARENTING AND DISCPLINE

Image
PARENTING AND DISCPLINE Parenting doesn't end when your child graduates from diapers or even from middle school. In fact, the teen years can bring some of the toughest discipline challenges parents have to face. Sometimes their actions and behaviors bring about frustration and anger    which makes you feel like you need to react at that right second, when in fact, it’s perfectly okay to take time and pause before you say or do anything at all. In fact, you’ll find when you’re frustrated with your child’s behavior, and hoping that the question of “why did you do that” or “why did you do this” will give you some insight to what’s going on underneath the surface, it’s usually end up with “I don’t know. D iscipline Strategies that can be harmful Physical discipline Physical discipline is anything that is done to a child to cause physical pain or discomfort in response to their behaviour. TUESDAY 22ND JUNE, 2021. THEME: REMEMBER ME,  O LORD (2). MEMORY VERSE: “ And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.” (Genesis 30:22) BIBLE READING: 1 Samuel 1:17-19 (KJV) 17. Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace; and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him. 18. And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad. 19. And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the LORD, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah; and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the LORD remembered her. MESSAGE: When we say God always remembers, we do not mean that He forgets things or people. ‘God remembers’ means that He has decided to do something.  Our Bible reading for today says God remembered Hannah. God could not have forgotten her because she and her family went to Shiloh every year to worship Him (1 Samuel 1:3).  ...

Genesis  49:26 BIBLE READING:  Genesis 27:22-29 22 And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. 23 And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him. 24 And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am. 25 And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine and he drank. 26 And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son. 27 And he came near, and ...
