FRIDAY, 17TH DECEMBER, 2021. THEME: THE HABITATION OF THE LORD. MEMORY VERSE: If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous. Job 8:6 BIBLE READING: Psalm 97:10-11. 10 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. 11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. MESSAGE: God is Holy, His habitation is holy, and He is to be worshipped in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 96:9). The habitation of the Lord is the place where God blesses His people with diverse kinds of blessings- spiritual, physical and material. However, only the pure and upright can be inhabited by God, only people in whom the Lord dwells can enjoy the blessings of God’s presence that guarantees security, according to Psalm 91:1 which says: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almigh...

THURSDAY, 16TH DECEMBER, 2021. THEME:  CHALLENGES ARE STEPPING STONES. MEMORY VERSE : And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose . Romans 8:28 BIBLE READING:  Philippians 1:12-21. 12 But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; 13 So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places; 14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. 15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: 16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I the...

WEDNESDAY, 15TH DECEMBER 2021.   THEME:  BEWARE OF PROFITEERING.   MEMORY VERSE: A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.   Proverbs 11:1   BIBLE READING:  Proverbs 11:1-4. 1 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight. 2 When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom. 3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them. 4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.     MESSAGE: Profiteering- the act of making excessive and unfair profit usually through illegal means is considered as wickedness before God. Profiteering involves taking undue advantage of others. You may not know the havoc you are wreaking on humanity until God opens your eyes to see that both the services and goods you are charging exorbitantly for are not affordable by those who need them for...

TUESDAY, 14TH DECEMBER, 2021. TOPIC: ALL YOUR HEART, SOUL, AND MIND MEMORISE “ Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”  (Matthew 22:37) BIBLE READING: Matthew 22:35-38 (KJV) 35. Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36. Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37. Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38. This is the first and great commandment. MESSAGE God wants you to be totally His. The Lord says in Exodus 20:3 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” There should be nothing standing between you and God. You shouldn’t also allow anyone or anything to take His place in your life. God must be your all in all. Beloved, you cannot claim to truly love God with all your heart, soul, and mind if anyone or anything is more important than Him in your life. ...

MONDAY 13TH DECEMBER 2021.   THEME:  LET HIM TAKE YOUR BURDEN.   MEMORY VERSE : The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him . Ezekiel 18:20   BIBLE READING:  Ezekiel 18:1-4. 1The word of the Lord came unto me again, saying, 2 What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? 3 As I live, saith the Lord God, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. 4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.   MESSAGE: The righteousness of God demands that the soul that commits sin would die as we see in our memory verse today. John 10:10 however g...

THURSDAY, 9TH DECEMBER, 2021. THEME:  MAINTAIN YOUR IDENTITY IN GOD.   MEMORY VERSE: How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land? Psalm 137:4  BIBLE READING:  Psalm 137:1-9. 1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. 2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. 3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. 4 How shall we sing the LORD's song in a strange land? 5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. 6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. 7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof. 8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served ...

WEDNESDAY, 8TH DECEMBER, 2021. THEME:  BLESSINGS OF UNITY. MEMORY VERSE: For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another . 1 John 3:11 BIBLE READING:  Psalm 133:1-3. 1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. MESSAGE: In our devotional today, we will consider the blessings of unity, which have been identified in the Scriptures to include joy, peace, and progress. When you go through the Bible reading of today, you will observe the Psalmist lamenting, almost in despair. Perhaps this was so because he had seen how elusive unity was among the brethren, even in his time.  Today, despite the fac...

TUESDAY, 7TH DECEMBER, 2021. THEME: YOU WANT TO PROSPER?, TRUST GOD.   MEMORY VERSE: Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. Psalms  128:1 BIBLE READING: PSALMS 128:1-6  1 . Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways. 2. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. 3. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. 4. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. 5. The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. 6. Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel. MESSAGE The lack of the fear of the Lord has brought untold hardship to many people since the fall of man. However, those who have exercised the fear of the Lord in the past have fulfilled their destinies. Thus, every wise per...

MONDAY, 6TH DECEMBER, 2021. THEME:  DIVINE ASSISTANCE. MEMORY VERSE: Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. Psalm 127:1   BIBLE READING:  Psalm 127:1-2. 1.Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. 2. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. MESSAGE: Every creature needs some form of assistance. I is only God- our creator that does not need assistance at all. Of all kinds of assistance men may get however, the one from God is the greatest. Whenever God asks someone to partner with Him on any of His projects, He is setting u the fellow for blessings. When Jesus asked Peter’s boat to preach at the lake of Gennesaret, he did so because He wanted to make Peter a famous fisher of men, not because He wouldn’t h...

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. MESSAGE Imagine how a wealthy man who is willing to do anything for his wife would feel if she were to go to one of their tenants a bachelor well-known for his philandering ways, to beg for bread. Th...

THURSDAY, 2ND DECEMBER, 2021. THEME: THE CURE FOR SHAME. MEMORY VERSE: Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. Psalms 119:6 BIBLE READING: PSALMS 119:1-8 1 . Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. 2. Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. 3. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. 4. Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. 5. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! 6. Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. 7. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. 8. I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.   MESSAGE Genesis 3:10 says that after the devil had deceived Adam and Eve, they suffered from shame. They were ashamed because the glory of the Lord had departed from them. Thus, we see that it was disobedience that brought about sh...
