FRIDAY 23RD JULY, 2021. THEME: WHEN REVIVAL COMES (1). MEMORY VERSE: Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?  Psalms 85:6 BIBLE READING: Psalms 85:4-7 85. Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease. 86. Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations? 87. Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? 88. Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation. MESSAGE : In Christianity, revival generally refers to increased spiritual fervency or renewal in the congregation of believers. What happens when revival comes? According to our Bible reading of today, people turn away from their wickedness when revival comes.  Salvation becomes a household commodity and the anger of God ceases to burn against the people. One pleasant thing about God concerning sinners is that He would always warn them of the dangers of a sinful life so they may repent and es...

THURSDAY 22ND JULY, 2021. THEME: ASPIRING TO HIGHER LEVELS? MEMORY VERSE: And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased: and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.  Matthew 23:12 BIBLE READING: PSALMS 61:2 2.  From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.  MESSAGE: There are various levels in life. When we talk about health, we have those who are sick; even among the sick, there are levels of sickness some are sick, some are very sick while some have terminal sicknesses. Some may even be dying. When we talk about wealth, there are the destitute, the poor, the comfortable, the rich, the very rich, the wealthy and the flourishing. The flourishing are those who, according to the Bible lend to nations. There are also those who have so much abundance that it is difficult to imagine. In 2 Chronicles 9:20 we read: “And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were of gold…” There a...
OPEN HEAVENS 31ST MAY 2018 THURSDAY DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR E.A. ADEBOYE Topic: Dry Bones Shall Live Again Memorise: Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: – John 11:25 Read: Ezekiel 37:1-10 (KJV) 1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, 2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. 3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. 4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. 5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: 6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you,...

SUNDAY 11TH JULY, 2021. THEME: HONORABLE WORKMAN? MEMORY VERSE: “ But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.”  2 Timothy 2:20 BIBLE READING: 2 Timothy 2:20-21 (KJV) 20. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work. MESSAGE: Our God is the God of plan and purpose. He does not do anything without a reason.  For example, when He wanted to create man He said, …Let us make man in our image…and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea… (Genesis 1:26). Also, when God sent His only begotten Son to the world, it was for a purpose – “…for he shall save his people from their sins” (Matthew. 1:21).  Examples a...

FRIDAY 9TH JULY, 2021. THEME: A TIMELY OFFERING. MEMORY VERSE: “ And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me.”  (Genesis 27:20) BIBLE READING: Genesis 27:20-33 (KJV) 20. And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. 21. And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not. 22. And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau. 23. And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau’s hands; so he blessed him. 24. And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am. 25. And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son’s venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did ...

THURSDAY 8TH JULY, 2021. THEME: WITNESS FOR GOD OR SATAN?   MEMORY VERSE: “ A false witness shall not be unpunished, And he that speaketh lies shall perish.” (Proverbs 19:9) BIBLE READING: Mark 14:57-59, Acts 1:8 (KJV) MARK 14:57-59 57. And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying, 58. We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands. 59. But neither so did their witness agree together. ACTS 1:8 8 . But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. MESSAGE: In Exodus 20:16 God commanded that we should not bear false witness against our neighbours.  The consequences of being a false witness are found in Proverbs 19:9 where the Bible says: A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall pe...

WEDNESDAY 7TH JULY, 2021. THEME: WATCH THE COMPANY YOU KEEP! MEMORY VERSE: “ Blessed is the man That walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”  (Psalms 1:1) BIBLE READING: Mark 14:54, 66-71 (KJV) 54. And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest; and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire. MARK 14:66-71 66. And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest; 67. And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth. 68. But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew. 69. And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is one of them. 70. And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them; for th...

SUNDAY 4TH JULY, 2021. THEME: A DIVINE TOUCH . MEMORY VERSE: “ Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.” (Matthew 9:29) BIBLE READING: Matthew 9:20-22 (KJV) 20. And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment; 21. For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. 22. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. MESSAGE: There is tremendous power in a divine touch. A divine touch could be positive or negative. Naaman knew the power in a touch; that was why he was disappointed when Elisha did not come out to welcome him to Samaria.  (2 Kings 5:11) describes it thus: But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the Lord his Go...

FRIDAY 2ND JULY, 2021. THEME: OCCUPY UNTIL HE RETURNS. MEMORY VERSE: “And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.”  (Luke 19:13) BIBLE READING: Joshua 13:1-6 (KJV) 1. Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed. 2. From Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite; five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites; 3. From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians, unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites; 4. And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baalgad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath. 5. All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmai...
