MESSAGE: “God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.” Psalm 62:11 The above passage says that power belongs to God, not the devil. THEME: SIGNS OF BACKSLIDING (4) MEMORY VERSE: “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” Proverbs 11:30 BIBLE READING: John 15:4-5 (KJV) 4. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5. I am the vine, ye are the branches; He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing. MESSAGE: Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Psalm 51:13.  We are focusing on Psalms 51 today because it is the prayer of David after he backslid. It is the sincere prayer of a backslider asking for restoration.  In the Bible passage quoted above, David said that if God should restore him, he would teach sinners His way. TUESDAY, 23RD MARCH 2021 THEME: SIGNS OF BACKSLIDING II MEMORY VERSE: Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8 BIBLE READING: Matthew 7:17-18 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. MESSAGE: A major sign of backsliding is when you discover that your mind is constantly filled with immoral thoughts. A backsliding believer would have all manner of sinful thoughts flow through his or her mind. When David backslid, he cried to God for restoration, saying: *“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10* His heart had become dirty.  He discovered that immoral thoughts now filled his heart.
